Breitling Avenger Hurricane: Decision Making

The Breitling Avenger Hurricane is a powerhouse of a watch and a best-seller on AuthenticWatches.com.  Initially, the Avenger Hurricane was released with an exceptionally large 50mm case (one of the largest cases offered for Breitling watches), but the model has since been downsized to a more modest 45mm case as an alternative option for consumers looking for something a bit more wearable

What’s interesting about the Breitling Avenger Hurricane is that despite their large case sizes, the cases are made from a Breitling-patented polymer called “Breitlight,” which is 3 times lighter than titanium and nearly 6 times lighter than stainless steel in weight.  Despite the lightweight case, the polymer is significantly harder than titanium and stainless steel and more resistant to scratches and corrosion.

Both the 45mm and 50mm versions of the Breitling Avenger Hurricane feature a chronograph, a 70 hour power reserve, and are powered by in-house Breitling self-winding automatic movements.  The timepieces are each affixed to comfortable anthracite canvas straps with deployment-style buckles.  The cobra yellow dial features aviation-inspired Arabic numerals and luminescent hands and markers, making the timepiece easily legible.

For a more subdued look, the Breitling Avenger Hurricane is also available with a black dial.   The 50mm version is available with a black dial both in a military-type 24 display as well as a 12-hour display, while the 45mm only offers the 12-hour display version.
