The Olympics are a time honored tradition of competition, sportsmanship, and international good will which display the finely honed skills of the best athletes in the world. It is only fitting that the upcoming Winter Olympic Games will feature OMEGA as the official timekeeper for the 28th Olympiad in a row.
“OMEGA has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games on 27 occasions since 1932. PyeongChang 2018 will be our 28th and we feel very proud to be returning to this prestigious multi-sport event. Recently, OMEGA and the IOC extended their partnership until 2032, meaning we are on track for 100 years of Olympic Games service. It’s a great testament to our enduring relationship, our dedication to the athletes, and our history of precision and innovation” said Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA.
OMEGA timepieces have been widely celebrated for their style, precision, and reliability for over a century. OMEGA has cemented itself in history as the watchmaker that has traversed every environment imaginable. OMEGA has crafted highly functional timepieces to explore the deepest depths of the ocean (the original OMEGA Pro-Prof was tested by Jacques Cousteau) to the farthest reaches of space mankind has explored (the OMEGA Speedmaster was the timepiece worn on the surface of the moon). These remarkable achievements play no small part in the selection of OMEGA as the standard bearer in timekeeping for the Olympic Games.
OMEGA has released two timepieces to commemorate the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
