Baselworld is the globe’s leading watch and jewelry trade show, organized every year in the beautiful city of Basel, Switzerland. Over 2,000 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries made their way across Switzerland’s borders to flaunt and showcase the most luxurious watch and jewelry brands of the modern market. Nearly 100,000 ogling visitors flock to the event annually.

Between March 17th and March 24th, Baselworld 2016 proved to be a time-ticker hit, drawing over 4,000 journalists from across the globe searching for the hottest news regarding luxury-brand timepieces. From daily papers to lifestyle magazines to television networks, coverage was heavy and extensive, as writers and reporters alike sought to bring word of the latest innovations to their loyal followers.

Since 1917, the trade show has served as the grounds for new and improved additions to the watch world. Tag Heuer, for example, showed their truest colors by giving the world its first peek at six modern watch types, including the Calibre Heuer 02, the Heuer Monza, the Aquaracer Lady, the Aquaracer 300M Calibre 5, and the Carrera Calibre Heuer 01. Rolex was also seen hogging the spotlight with its latest editions of Lady-Date, Day-Date, Yacht-Master, Explorer and Cellini watches.

Refusing to be second banana, Omega also delivered “time for our wrists” with new bands like the Seamaster Planet Ocean Master Chronometer Collection, the Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon “Meteorite,” the Globemaster Annual Calendar, the Constellation Small Seconds, and the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M “Good Planet.” An extensive array of diamonds, stones and pearls were also presented, and machines and suppliers were given ample space to brandish their products and services to eager attendees. Here is a preview of Omega’s newest Omega Planet Ocean Master Chronometer:
